Daniela Hathaway – Soprano

Daniela was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She studied singing at the Royal Academy of Music in London and has performed in the UK, Argentina, France, and Mexico. With Trio Alma she has performed all over Scotland and has more exciting concerts planned for 2024/25.

Alongside singing Daniela develops and delivers community music projects for primary schools, care homes, people living with dementia and children with additional needs. Most recently she sang at the RSNO concert for people living with dementia.

Daniela currently is one of the vocal leaders for Memory Spinners and Breath Cycle with Scottish Opera, she is the singing teacher for the RSNO Youth Chorus and runs her own choirs for children and singing for well-being.

Sarah Harrington - Cello 

Sarah attended school in Bearsden and then went on to study the cello at the Royal Academy of Music in London from 1990 -1994 with Professors Derek Simpson and David Smith.

After several years freelancing in London with orchestras such as Glyndebourne Touring Opera, English Chamber Orchestra, Mozart Festival Orchestra and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Sarah returned to Scotland in 1998, becoming a member of the cello section of The Orchestra of Scottish Opera. Sarah loves to perform in Chamber Ensembles, regularly playing with colleagues from the orchestra. In addition, she teaches the cello at Hutcheson Grammar and Lomond Schools.

Stephen Adam - Piano

Born in Stirling, Stephen was playing the piano by the age of 3 and later became a student at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music, where he won prizes for Chamber Music, Composition and Lieder Accompaniment. After two years of postgraduate study under cellist Rachael Sommer at the RNCM in Manchester, he worked in Spain as a pianist and arranger before returning to London and Birmingham to freelance with various orchestras.

In 1982, he was appointed sub-principal cello with The Orchestra of Scottish Opera and performed for numerous music clubs as accompanist and chamber musician. His arranging work has involved projects for the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the Scottish Ensemble and the recording of Mozart’s Seraglio for Scottish Opera, as well as the BBC’s “Songs of Praise”. His award-winning compositions include a commission from the National Trust to celebrate the architect Robert Adam and a Suite for Cello and Strings featuring the traditional music of the Western Isles.

Stephen is an enthusiastic and consummate jazz musician, who is also in great demand in Britain and throughout Europe for his knowledge and skills in performing and arranging Bohemian and Russian music.
