Music @ St Cyprians in Lenzie was awarded the prestigious New Chamber Music Promoter Fund from Chamber Music Scotland (formerly Enterprise Music Scotland) in 2019. CMS is the influential national body responsible for leading, developing and connecting the chamber music sector in Scotland. The fund is awarded to only a handful of organisations and offers support through funding provided by Creative Scotland.

The church has been hosting informal concerts over the past few years and in recent times enlisted the help of local professional musicians from Music Co-OPERAtive Scotland (McOpera) to encourage the growth of their audience.

This initiative has identified an increased demand for classical music concerts in the area, and a wish to put the concerts on a more formal footing to include visiting professional musicians and establishing outreach projects taking music to local children and families in the community.

Ongoing funding from CMS means that all of this and more will be possible. Gavin Boyd, chair of Music @ St Cyprian’s said, “We are delighted to have been awarded funding from Chamber Music Scotland and are hugely encouraged by their support for our efforts to introduce the performance of high quality chamber music locally.”

In 2020 to 2021 season all our concerts were cancelled because of the COVID restrictions. We are excited to let you know that we will be announcing our 2021 to 2022 season at the beginning of August, so watch this space!
