Roo Geddes (Violin) and Neil Sutcliffe (Accordion) are celebrating a decade as a duo with a tour of Scotland, sharing music from their acclaimed album ‘HOMELANDS’ alongside the fruits of their latest explorations. The pair are investigating the potential of improvisation within traditional Scottish music, informed by their shared influences from Jazz and Classical music.
They are also embarking on a journey of new compositions, rooted in the woods: the lost ancient pine forest of Caledon, devastating forest fires in California, glaciers retreating into the New Zealand rainforest, the dark carpet of Sitka spruce blanketing Galloway…
Their new music celebrates the splendour of these magnificent forests, marks their importance both culturally and ecologically, and imagines a future where they are universally cherished and nurtured.
Their work has been galvanised by recent exciting collaborations with artists and dancers - opening their ears to new creative possibilities and processes. On this tour they will share some of these new adventures, alongside highlights from their previous album and a few sneak-peeks into their most recent compositions.
